According to statistics from my country's customs data, from January to April 2020, my country's mask exports were 8.855 billion US dollars, and protective clothing exports were 801 million US dollars, accounting for 13.8% of the total textile and apparel exports to the world during the same period, becoming an important support for my country's textile and apparel exports.
In terms of market structure, as the epidemic continues to spread around the world, the demand for epidemic prevention materials(Disposable Face Mask Vendor) in the three major traditional markets of the United States, Japan and the European Union has increased significantly, driving my country's textile exports to the United States, Japan and the European Union to increase.
According to Chinese customs data, from January to April 2020, China exported US$5.093 billion in textiles to the United States, a year-on-year increase of 16.83%, of which export masks accounted for 33% of textiles, reaching US$1.691 billion; during the same period, China exported textiles to Japan 24.41 US$ 100 million, an increase of 46.22% year-on-year; of which export masks accounted for 40% of textiles, reaching 967 million US dollars; China’s exports of textiles to the EU were US$ 6.613 billion, an increase of 62.32% year-on-year, of which export masks accounted for 54% of textiles, reaching 3.573 billion US dollars. Even the amount of masks exported to Germany accounted for 64% of the total export of German textiles.
Overall, driven by the export of masks(Face Mask Supplier), protective clothing and other epidemic prevention materials, my country's textile and apparel exports achieved a 10% year-on-year growth in April, and the cumulative export decline continued to narrow to about -10%.
Although the epidemic situation is still spreading around the world, the global demand for epidemic prevention materials is still huge, but after a round of growth, there will be no explosive demand. Although anti-epidemic products such as masks and protective clothing are expected to maintain a certain export scale for a period of time in the future, they will achieve a normal export after reaching a balance between supply and demand in the long run. The specific time when the equilibrium point is reached, whether it is one or two months or longer, mainly depends on the global development and control of the epidemic. It remains to be seen.
Affected by the epidemic in 2020, my country's textile export pressure has increased significantly. The World Trade Organization predicts that global trade will decline by 13% to 32% in 2020. The weakening of international demand will definitely affect the performance of my country's textile exports, and my country's textile and apparel exports will remain low.
