Why can't the nonwoven be reused?

Sterile barrier properties are lost afteruse

According to research, the shelf life ofsterile articles is closely related to the thickness of the non-woven fabric(SMS Non-woven Roll Factory) and the number of layers. Disposable non-woven packaging materials, after aseries of high-temperature steam sterilization and chemical washing, the fiberstructure is deformed, the pores of the cloth are sparse, the thickness is decreased, and even the small holes which are not easily noticeable to thenaked eye, the bacteria inhibition rate will suddenly drop or Loss of bacteria resistance. The requirements for packaging materials in the Disinfection Technical Specification are: providing a bacterial barrier during storage tomaintain sterility. If the disposable packaging material is used repeatedly, the storage after sterilization cannot be safely valid.

Internal microscopic properties changeafter sterilization

The non-woven packaging material isgenerally an SMS composite type non-woven fabric(SMS Nonwovens Wholesale). The main material of thistype of non-woven fabric is polypropylene, which is processed through multiple processes through melt-blown and spunbonding processes. The microstructure isfine plastic fiber (see the figure below). Shrinkage is the characteristic ofplastic articles after high temperature. Plastics that are really resistant tohigh temperature are not available, and high temperature resistance is also arelative concept. Therefore, the nonwoven fabric also has a corresponding shrinkage reaction at the microscopic level.

After high-temperature sterilization, the fine plastic fibers of the non-woven fabric will shrink to a certain extent. The use of the non-woven fabric(Non Woven Medical Products On Sales) after sterilization is more brittle than before sterilization, and the flexibility is reduced. The change in non-woven packaging materials is one of the reasons why non-woven fabrics can only beused once.
