OBJECTIVE: To compare the antibacterial rate of several medical packaging materials with different washing time, the weight loss rate, tear strength and wear resistance of cotton.
Method: The antibacterial rate of cotton, non-woven fabric(SMS Nonwovens Manufacturer) and disposable filter paper was tested according to the test method of sterile medical device packaging. The weight loss rate, tear strength and abrasion resistance of cotton cloths with different washing times were tested by weight loss test, tensile test and abrasion resistance test.
RESULTS: In the microbial barrier grading test of ventilated packaging materials, the average antibacterial rates of the new double-layer cotton cloth, the old double-layer cotton cloth, the disposable filter paper and the non-woven fabric(Medical SMS Non-woven Cloth Supplier) were 62.15%, 31.39%, 82.04% and 89.71%, respectively. After washing 30 times, the weight loss rate of the cotton cloth decreased by 1.22%, and the tear strength decreased by 6.70%.
Conclusion: Non-woven fabrics, disposable filter paper and double-layer cotton cloth are arranged in order of bacterial resistance. After washing the cotton cloth for 30 times, the weight loss rate and the tear strength decreased, and the antibacterial effect was inferior to that of the new cotton cloth.
